Abstract: With the development of computer technology, removable storage devices are widely used by people. But it will lead to high risk to corperations’ sensitive data. This paper describes a new management method of removable storage devices. The method extracts a unique ID of each device, then uses the ID to generate a certificate. When removable storage devices plug into network which is based on the management method, these devices need to be authenticated their certificates. If devices passing the authentication they can be used according to their authorities. Finally, this paper gives an implementation of the management method.
